This equipment can produce GRE pipes for ocean and oil fields. GRE pipes are made of glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin and the production process adopts steam internal heating curing. Production range: Pipe diameter 2"-28" (DN50mm-700mm) L9.15m-12m.

Designed annual output: 180 km (based on 2" pipes, working pressure 7MPa, 300 days * 16 hours/day per year).

 

Description of the production process of GRE pipes

 

 

2.1.1 Pipe body

The pipe body is made of glass fiber impregnated with epoxy resin and wound with pre-designed layers according to the pressure inside and outside the pipe body. Different layers have different characteristics and functions. The wall thickness of the pipe body is calculated according to the design conditions (internal pressure, external environmental pressure, transportation, operation, medium temperature, ambient temperature, etc.).

 

2.1.2 Pipe end

The GRE pipes (2"-12") produced by this production line are all threaded. The female thread of GRE pipe produced is directly formed by the pipe mold and is part of the pipe body (end). The male thread is molded by GRE mold (or equipment). 12" is connected by bonding.

 

2.2 Pipe fittings

Epoxy resin or alicyclic amine is used to produce pipe fittings. The produced pipe fittings have the same chemical resistance and mechanical properties as the pipe body. Pipe fitting molds usually use male molds, and commonly used pipe fittings include: elbows, tees, flanges, pipe clamps, etc.

The production process of this production line is based on fiber winding technology and API and ASTM standards.

1. Raw material preparation

The main raw materials used are glass fiber and epoxy resin.

2. Pipe winding

After the glass fiber is impregnated with resin, it is spirally wound on the steel pipe mold according to a pre-set winding angle to finally form the structure of the pipe body. The female thread of the pipe body is formed by winding at the pipe end during the winding process (by the pipe mold).

3. Curing

The curing of FRP pipes is completed by steam heating in the steel pipe mold, with a heating range of 60˚C-180˚C.

4. Demolding

The demoulding (separation of the pipe body from the mold) of the pipe body is performed on the winding unit line.

5. Cutting and processing of the pipe end cone

The demoulded pipe body is cut and corrected by the pipe end cutting machine. And the pipe cone is processed by the grinding wheel grinding machine.

6. Molding of male thread

The male thread is molded on the steel ring mold with male thread cement, and it is cured together with the pipe end cone (bonded).

7. Inspection

100% of the produced pipes pass the hydrostatic test. And the final product is tested and sampled according to the requirements of API and ASTM standards.
